Derrick Meeking
Derrick J. Meeking has extensive work experience in workforce development and programs. Derrick J. currently holds the position of Director of Director, Market Development Initiatives at Walker-Miller Energy Services since September 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Workforce Development and Programs at Empowerment Plan from October 2019 to September 2022. Before that, they worked at United Way for Southeastern Michigan as the Director of Economic Prosperity and Initiatives from May 2018 to October 2019. Derrick also has a strong background in career services and training, having held various roles at Focus:HOPE from 2009 to 2018, including Career Services Manager, Manager of the Machinist Training Institute, Assistant Manager of the Community Ventures Program, and Assistant Manager of the Machinist Training Institute. Derrick J. began their career at City Year, where they served as a Recruitment Manager from July 2008 to August 2009 and as a Service Leader – Senior Corps from July 2007 to June 2008.
