Tuesday, October 19 

 

MI Energy Career Exploration Fair

9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

The MI Energy Career Exploration Fair is a a virtual career exploration and resource fair where participants will learn about the breadth of industry employment, benefits of energy careers, and career pathways. The event will inform and expose high school students, educators, parents, and adult job seekers about energy careers and the multiple avenues and steps they can take to move into a career in energy.

MI Energy Careers Job Fair 2021

4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

The MI Energy Careers Job Fair is a chance to meet virtually with energy employers from around the state! If you are actively looking for a job or an internship, don’t forget to get your resumé into the hands of recruiters by uploading it when you register. Stroll the virtual booths and learn more about companies in your area and job openings that are available now or talk with representatives about their calendar for hiring.

Wednesday, October 20

EnergyCareers 2021 – CEWD National Conference & Career Fair

11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

On a national level, EnergyCareers 2021 will kick off with a high-energy general session, with noted presenters, before attendees move to panel-hosted breakout sessions that will take a deeper dive into opportunities for minorities, women, veterans, career changers, and students. Sessions will be guided by industry leaders through varied virtual experiences, including a general session, breakout sessions, networking lounges, forums, and exhibits. Also offered will be a national job fair.

Thursday, October 21 

MI Energy Careers Education Pathways Panel Discussion

9:00 – 10:30 a.m.

MI Energy Careers Educational Pathways Panel Discussion is a virtual panel discussion for parents, youth, and job seekers with educational partners on their academic programs that relate to energy careers. The panel discussion will be moderated by Rita Brown, BCC+ and will feature panelists from Lansing Community College, Henry Ford College, Monroe Community College, MIAT, Jackson College, Grand Rapids Community College, Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Alpena Community College. The educational pathways they will be discussing include: heating/cooling, robotics, lineworker, customer energy specialist, wireman, pre-apprenticeship for energy companies, nuclear energy, electrician, energy systems, renewable energy program, industrial maintenance and energy technology,  construction and wind turbine academy. There will also be a special message from U.S. Senator Gary Peters.

MI Energy Careers Contest 2021:

This is two opportunities for students to participate in a weeklong contest while also learning more about careers in energy.

Students will use the GooseChase app to complete various missions related to the energy industry.

Daily trivia questions will be posted to this site and students must collect all of their answers to submit for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card, a drone with a camera and $250 for their attending school/organization.
